False Fire Alarms
False Fire Alarms
Dear owners and Residents;
On Monday, August 8, 2022, we experienced two building wide false alarms. Initial findings pointed to a potentially faulty flow switch connected to the lobby sprinkler system. This matter is currently under investigation.
As always, we encourage the residents to take all fire alarms seriously, and follow these instructions (from Fire Safety Plan);
IN CASE OF FIRE:
1. Leave the fire area, take key.
2. Close all doors behind you.
3. Telephone the North York Fire Department, by dialing911. Know and give the correct address and location of the fire in the building.
4. Activate the Fire Alarm, by using pull station
5. Use exit stairwells to leave building immediately
6. Do not use elevators
7. Do not return until it is declared safe to do so by a Fire Official
IF YOU ARE IN A SUITE AID FIRE ALARM IS HEARD
1. Before opening the door, feel the knob for heat, lf not hot, brace yourself against the door and open slightly.
If you feel air pressure or a hot draft, close the door quickly.
2. If you find no fire or smoke in the corridor, take the suite key, close the door behind you and leave by the nearest exit stairwell.
3. If you encounter smoke in the corridor or stairwell, consider taking the corridor to the other side of the
building where another stairwell may be clear, or return to your suite.
4. Listen for further instruction.
Should you decide to evacuate, please move away from the main building entrance and keep driveways clear.
We do apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Kind regards,
